Skin Care with a Soul
One of the things I’m the most passionate about educating the public on is environmental toxins. I’ve written numerous articles and given countless talks about all of the harmful toxins out there in seemingly benign consumer products, like cleaning products, plastics, and, yes, even cosmetics.
In fact, cosmetic companies are some of the worst offenders when it comes to using harmful chemicals and substances in their products, not to mention their reputations for environmental degradation and cruelty to animals.
So what’s a girl to do? I’m passionate about avoiding these toxins and the companies that use them, but I also want to protect my skin and take good care of it.
Luckily, there are groups like the Environmental Working Group who do the heavy lifting for you – they undertake a massive amount of research, and their Skin Deep Cosmetics Guide is an amazing resource for finding cosmetics and skin products that won’t damage you – or the environment.
I don’t use a ton of make up, personally, but I love good skin care products. These days I’m using the following(and, for the record, I’m not sponsored by them in any way – I just happen to genuinely believe in their products):
Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash
Derma e Soothing Moisturizing Creme
Coffee Bean Eye Cream by 100% Pure
