Family-Friendly Cooking: Spring Edition

It can be hard to find things to keep kids entertained over Spring Break. Add that on top of the daily responsibilities of life, and many parents can be wondering whether this is really a break at all.

One of the faults of our modern approach to child rearing is we often separate ‘kid activities’ from the rest of life, when generations past found enrichment, bonding, development of essential life skills, and yes– fun, in involving kids within the responsibilities of the household.

So gather your little chefs and get ready for a fun-filled cooking adventure this spring break! I’ve rounded up six family friendly recipes to cook with your mini-me’s for nutritious fun.

Italian Cannelloni

While this might not be a hit with picky eaters, this Italian classic can be a lot of fun to stuff and prepare with kiddos.

PB & J Thumbprint Cookies

These are fun to make, kid approved, and a great protein snack, or on the go breakfast.

Homemade Sushi

Here is a list of 14 different kinds of sushi to roll at home. Fun for kids to experiment and create their own rolls too!

Healthy Baked Chicken Nuggets

That’s right, a kid classic, at home from scratch!

Caprese Skewers

Enjoy, and remember– life tastes better when you’re having fun!
